Dark Seraphine eBook ↠ Paperback

Dark Seraphine Great book I really liked it, it was a fast read, the writing style is amazing, so entertaining, fluent and with a splash of humour The author mixed the paranormal stuff with everyday teenage problems and that made it great and believable I didn t gave it 5 stars though because there was a part in the middle that was a little boring. But only the middle because the beginning is awesome It starts in a super interesting way and hooked me up from the very first page.I liked the background of the Great book I really liked it, it was a fast read, the writing style is amazing, so there was a part in the middle that was a little boring. But only the middle because the beginning is awesome It starts in a super interesting way and hooked me up from the very first page.I liked the background of the story and its development I also enjoyed the originality of it all.At the start, Caleb and Jess relation is so sweet and cute, Kyle and Shani are wonderful supporting characters and their short story is interesting as well.Gia I liked her A little bipolar for my taste but she had doing what your heart wants or what you should do issues so it s completely understandable. What honestly was weird for me was the name, I mean, every time I read Gia Jones I couldn t stop thinking in G.I Joe O.o yup I m that old lol and something similar happened when I read Caleb s full name Caleb Elijah Wood Who popped into my mind FRODO of course Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins Lord of the Rings Name complaints apart, I loved it There was romance, action, magic and a not very common creature.I m looking forward to readingof KaSonndra Leigh.THUMBS UP I want to thank the author, KaSondra Leigh, for providing me with an eARC of this book to read and give an honest review Getting walk among us She forgot to tell me that sometimes they re not all fluffy and nice Seventeen year old Caleb Wood has seen people he calls the walkers since he was a baby It didn t take long for him to realize something no one can see these strangers but him They never stuck around or tried to touch him And they never said a word That was until one day on the first day of class in his senior year when an incredibly gorgeous girl strolls into his life and things are never the same again.Soon Caleb realizes he has stepped into the middle of a growing conflict between two ancient groups And his ability to see the invisible ones, the half breeds that want to modify the human race, just might be the only hope both he and the mysterious, but infuriating, Gia, have of making it out aliveFirst I must let you all know that I am a huge fan of KaSondra Leigh s writing She just has that it thing going on She creates characters that you grow attached to She creates scenarios that you can jump right into So when given the opportunity to read this book, I jumped at the chance Because I knew for sure that I would absolutely love it The first thing I have to say about this book is that I love the cover It is dark and mysterious The cover model is very handsome and has these eyes that just pull you right in, making you want to open the book and read it And I love the girl in the background, how she s shaded from our view, hiding behind him, and enigma to us all including the cover model It s a perfect set up for this book The characters are really awesome They are so typical high school, teenage kids They are easily relatable and believable And Leigh writes the characters so well you feel their emotions as if they are your own You felt their frustrations, their sorrows, their fears Amazing.Caleb is awesome He s kind of this cocky guy who also strikes me as a sort of dork He s into sports, and martial arts, but he doesn t seem to think he s worthy of the attention he gets from others He s sweet and caring And good looking, well, yeah, that s an understatement I love that the book is written from his POV I haven t read many books written from the male POV, and it s nice to see it from Leigh He does have a tendency to say things how they are, which can hurt people at times But I liked his ability to be so forthcoming.Gia is completely mysterious I could not figure her out at all I had no idea what she was and was surprised when it was revealed, that s for sure She frustrated me a bit with her advancing and pulling away from Caleb I understood in the end why she did these things, but I was getting annoyed with her for leading him on I wanted to give her a little push here and there so she would just make up her mind And Caleb s friends are supportive, despite the fact that they might find him strange at times They are the perfect supporting characters The storyline was very different for me This is the first time I have read a paranormal book of this specific creature Leigh s writing certainly made me want to keep reading It was mysterious and pulled me right in It wasn t slow at all and I found myself wanting to keep turning the page And the storyline was totally different from anything else I have read, so it helped to keep me wantingI certainly did not see where it was going and I loved that And Leigh s writing is really quite fabulous I love how it s so easy to read and flows right through the book no chinks, no confusion, just a storyline and writing that keeps going.Again, Leigh s writing is awesome If you want to read books that are interesting and fun, entertaining and flow well, you want to pick up her stuff 4 out of 5 stars from me First off, I d like to thank Ms KaSonndra Leigh for the copy of this book in return for an smile on my face when I finished reading this book. Why the crazy smile But this book drove me nuts in a good way THE GISTDark Seraphine follows the Point of View of Caleb Wood Ever since he was a kid, he knew he was different He could see people appearing out of thin air He could talk to them, hear them He calls them Walkers One day, one of the Walkers started talking and stalking him Her name was Gia Caleb finds himself attracted to Gia and he feels that she was feeling the same towards him but she was starting to avoid him A bunch of other weird things also started happening and Caleb has this thought that it might be related to Gia But what he didn t know was that it wasn t just about Gia but something even bigger than he could have imagined.FIRST IMPRESSIONIf I could sum it up to one word, it would be EXCITED I honestly didn t expect Ms Leigh to request me to read this book but I am glad she did When I read her email this was how I would have looked like image error if I was a sparkly multicolored pony but you get my point right The excited look in the pony s eyes Yeah that s what I was referring to Hehehe They synopsis on GR is actually very appealing to me It s something I would definitely be reading whether Ms Leigh gave me the copy or not I would have still read it But I am thankful she gave me the chance to read it for free I am eternally grateful CHARACTERSCALEBI have to start with Caleb I like his POV He was definitely just like a typical high school guy He was a little immature but who wasn t in high school right and cocky I liked how sometimes he could be really goofy one minute and then becomes really serious the next It only means that he isn t all fun and games The good thing with Caleb was he wasn t like all other guys in YA books, he wasn t all perfect and hot and all, he was what real guys at high school should be He makes mistakes and make up for them.GIAI had a hard time liking her to tell you honestly She was too mysterious for my liking but after awhile I realized why she had to be that way At first I didn t like her because she stalks Caleb and when Caleb developed feelings for her, she pushed him away I was really irritated but then as the story goes you get to know why she acted the way she did Also, I like her being this punk girl She wasn t the typical hot girly type of girl She was kickass in a way Totally cool CALEB GIA PUSH AND PULL RELATIONSHIPFrom the very beginning I knew it was going to be CALEB and GIA and not ERICA There was chemistry no doubt but there had been a time that I was a little irritated that GIA had to push CALEB away I was ready to smack her in the head and tell her to cut her crap and just tell CALEB why she can t so the poor guy would understand what was happening But all in all, I liked it Not loved it entirely though.HIGHLIGHTS I liked the POV of Caleb It was honest and real I found it very authentic even though we all know Ms Leigh is a girl The suspense was really nerve wrecking Ms Leigh really knows how to put her readers on the edge The concept was new I seriously didn t think that Gia and her people would be what they were I wouldn t have ever imagined it Very creative The characters were very genuine especially Caleb Gia Not really a big fan of her I liked Erica the love struck girl.QUOTABLE QUOTES I ve waited my entire life for this moment Ever since I was a little girl, I understood that I was meant for somethingSomething rare I also knew that if I found it, then my old life would never be the same again There are two parts to a person s soul the light and the dark Without one the other can t exist FINAL WORDS Again, I am eternally grateful for the opportunity that I had reading this book It was just great I enjoyed every minute of it There were times that it was too slow for me but as you read it , it gradually increases its pace I don t know why but I felt there were some things that should have not been included any but then again maybe it would feel incomplete if those scenes were going to be removed.Anyhow, this book was just awesome I would recommend it for fans of the YA paranormal genre It has humor, suspense, romance and mystery It will keep you reading until the very last page The ending was totally unexpected I never would have guessed that it was that person who was the Dark Seraphine This is my first KaSonndra Leigh book and would definitely not be the last.Great read 4 stars PRE REVIEW Okay so I had mixed thoughts about this one.I liked the whole concept but for those who have been reading my reviews I always emphasize that I mostly like books that have a fast pace. This book was not one of them but hell I enjoyed it image error Review to follow As I read the last word and closed this book, I felt a satisfied rush come over in, she busts right through Ms Leigh has the knowledge and intricacies to write in both female and male POV s and of subjects so opposite of each other, that she does so without a trace of playing it safe and accomplishes such in a flourish that makes ones jaw drop in awe.In Dark Seraphine, we are introduced to Caleb Beginning his senior year of high school, he just wants to enjoy his last year and get the heck out of dodge In the midst of this, his parents throw a monkey wrench in his plans and talk of a big move To make matters evenstressful to a hormonal teen, the hair flipping, gum snapping, sharp witted cheerleader of all our nightmares seems to have put her sights on him Oh, and don t forget about the spirits he sees but nobody else does that normally just roam but suddenly have taken a fancy to him, and let him know, verbally and by touch How muchcan a boy take The answer muchSuddenly there are dark creatures invading his life, an angelic spirit who doesn t have a true definition of what she is until further on, and a story that takes off like a rocket leaving all other stories in its path Love, mystery, death, light, dark, the grey in between, past, future, all wrapped into the first of a trilogy of The Seraphine As one who isn t a big fan of the male POV, I found this book entertaining When I wasn t reading it, I was wondering where the story was going to take me I found myself hurrying to see what was going to happen next, stopping to laugh out loud at the clumsiness I remember of high school boys, and thinking to myself, KaSonndra has this boy spot on I ve read male POV s that have seemed forced, or lacking, which in turn makes for a hard read I didn t have any problem with this and the story flowed a perfect melody of teen angst mixed with explosions of the unknown.I look forward to reading the next in the trilogy, along with all the future writing of the author Plus I can t wait to see her next covers and book trailers She has blessed us with amazing graphics on both accounts This is an author to watch, she will be busting through the listings before you know it Oh, KaSonndra, hurry with your next book, I need another on of your adventures to escape into Dark SeraphineIt has to be hard to write for a teenage boy I mean, I have one and I seriously don t understand him There are things that he does that makes me scream on the that s not a good example but that s the first thing that popped into my head X Files is definitely a Walkers type thing Caleb really wants his senior year to go smoothly He doesn t want to have to pay attention to the Walkers and stuff I mean, shoot, they haven t talked to him since he was 13 BUt Oh snapples One just started talking to him and she s this super duper hot girl that he can t take his eyes off of Aerosmith s Angel starts playing in the background But, he can t swoon after a Walker Can he Nah, man That would be unmanly HE should swoon after a real girl Oh snap But what happens when he does swoon after a real girl and her ex boyfriend is as big as Thor and has it out for him Well, things can t get any worse for Caleb, can they Oh yeah they can Not only does he have a bunch of Yoga Ladies squeezing his cheeks, and a family that is wanting to move, he also has to figure out the Dark Seraphine What Who is that I can t tell you That would wreck the book but zomg Hang on to book though Actually knowing what the characters are and everything beforehand or finding out and unraveling it as i read along I will tell you this though, I was dying to know who these men in black where and why they are always popping up at the worst possible times Ah Anyway, I m getting ahead of myself Let me tell you about the book Caleb is your typical high school boy His family life is ok His mom is a yoga instructor and his dad is hardly ever home working on some important engineering job again His ex girlfriend chose to leave him behind and move out of town with her dad leaving him with a broken heart Caleb had his best friend Kyle and Shani to keep him occupied but he just didn t seem himself any Ok, so a boy with a broken heart Boo hoo right oh no He built up this wall and vowed to never let anyone get that close to him again He was not going to let any girl own him like that Silly Boys what do they know Caleb also has this huge secret All his life he s seen spirits or Walkers that no one else could see They would typically fade in and out like they were never there if he just ignored them but not this time This walker was different She was beautiful with her dark hair, black leather jacket and those eyes, he could stare into her eyes forever Then she spoke to him Her voice was just as beautiful and sexy as she was, well that s what Caleb thinks anyways After that he couldn t get her out of his head All right so down to the men in black These black agents would pop up out of no whereand bad things typically followed whenever they did Caleb got all weirded out whenever they were around., Gia, told him that they were up to something and that he had to be ready for whatever it was What the heck Ready for what I totally forgot about Erica She s a cheerleader, loves pink clothes and has this huge thing for Caleb Caleb likes Erica but he doesn t feel that connection to her like he does when he s around Gia But then again Gia isn t always around, Erica is and she adores him What does he do, who does he choose and what will it cost him I am so not doing this book any justice You are just going to have to read it to find out what happens You will be so glad that you did though You don t want to miss Caleb and Gia s story I love KaSonndra Leigh and I will be stalking her until her next book comes out A huge thank you to KaSonndra Leigh for offering this book in exchange for an honest review Caleb has seen walkers since before he can remember They don t speak to him, so he just deals with them as if he s blind to them like everyone else keep popping up and Caleb starts to get crazy strong The only thing Caleb knows is that he can t control the draw he feels to Gia, and it might just mean the beginning of the end.I think maybe my head has been clouded by books that all about love and steamy scenes and not so much about the journey Dark Seraphine wasabout the journey, and I liked that It was also very refreshing to read a book with a male POV There was a great flow to the book, but I found a couple parts to be a little lack luster compared to the rest of the book.Caleb deals with all the regular teenage boy stuff and some serious darkeness He has to juggle school, girls, and his issues at home I felt so bad about the way his father neglected him, it was so horrible I didn t quite fall head over heels for him, but I definitely liked him He was funny and smart, but there was room for growth His friends, Kyle and Shani, kind of annoyed me I can t really even pinpoint the exact reason for it Maybe it was because they didn t have much of a presence besides sucking face And Shani came off as super bitchy Erica was okay You definitely feel for her when you find outof her story, but I still felt a little weary of her.The ending of this book was crazy It left me wanting Lost Seraphine, the next in the trilogy, NOW Overall I really liked this book I can t wait to see what will happen to Caleb next Firstly i walkers, he has never interacted with them in any way so when a gorgeous walker who he calls gia suddenly starts appearing out of no where and starts talking to him, he isthan a little interested, he feels a unexplained pull to her But suddenly things start happening that do not normally happen like girls wanting to kill him which i found sort of funny lOL and a few other creepy things.I loved it that KaSonndra let you feel how frustrated Caleb felt, at times he didnt know what the hell was going on, he felt so frustrated and you feel it right along side with him but it makes you keep on going to find out why this is all happening.Once again KaSonndra has written another book totally diffrent from all the others she has written and has been sucsessful in creating a must read She also knows how to make things spooky, and she also knows how a 17 year old boys mind thinks LOL KaSonndra is a very talented wrtier and i will be reading anything she writes as i know that she can write a book in any genre and still make it a must read After reading Hacienda Moon and When Copper Suns Fall, I became a huge fan of KaSonndra Leigh s work When I found out she was writing a new series from the hero s POV, I was really excited to see what she d create, and I was thrilled to accept an ebook copy for review A very grateful thank you to KaSonndra for the privilege to read this suspense filled came to a close Caleb is your typical 17 year old boy, other than the fact that he sees beings he calls walkers they don t bug him, they don t interact, and he just deals with their existenceuntil one of them turns around and talks to him The mysterious beauty won t tell Caleb her name, but he finds himself drawn to her for some reason He tries to go about his life with her popping up whenever she sees fit, but her warnings about danger coming has him on edge His friends don t know why he s acting strangely, the girl who likes him doesn t know why he s pushing her away, and his parents are just clueless to it all But when the gorgeous walker he s falling for shows up at school as a new student named Gia, Caleb s world is thrown into a tailspin Jealousy, danger, mistrust, and secrets make up his world ever since she came into his life, and Caleb struggles to deal with it all while maintaining his own sanity When enemies start closing in, it may just be Caleb s unknown connection to the mysterious girl that means the difference between life and death.I loved that this was written in Caleb s POV, it s always refreshing to get the guy s perspective instead of always seeing it from the heroine s eyes He s goofy, immature, and thinks of only one thing , just like you d expect a high school senior to act I loved how he was trying to interpret what the girls were thinking and feeling, it made me think of every guy I d ever dated as a teen But Caleb had so much to struggle with other than the ordinary teen problems, and he dealt with it as best he could He was so frustrated with Gia for giving him half answers and refusing to tell him why his world was changing around him I wanted to strangle Gia for keeping it from him, but in the end it s all clear why she couldn t tell him She s bound by a witch because of a choice she made years ago, and is paying the price for it Talk about heartbreaking As Caleb dealt with the crushing blows to his heart every time Gia pushed him away or disappeared from his life for some unknown reason, he wasandtorn about who he was meant to be with His heart told him it was Gia, but his mind grappled with her hot and cold behavior I felt terrible for him as he ached to be with her, and it killed me when she was distancing herself so much It was clear that she loved him, but without knowing what she was or why she was acting the way she was, it just made it so sad for Caleb You really have to hold onto your seat for the last 10% of this story, because it s a whirlwind of revelations, twists, danger, and romance KaSonndra took me by surprise when everything comes to light I was so happy to finally know what was behind all of the mystery, and I was grateful that Caleb could finally stop wondering This first book of the trilogy wraps up nicely and leads into what should be a very exciting sequel, and it was a thrilling start to the series The Re launched Second Edition will be published onMom always says the angels walk among us She
